The Oregon Thanksgiving Experience

This website is dedicated to you family members who are planning to share T-day with us in Newport. Besides fulfilling an assignment for the (:)wonderful!) web page class I am taking, I hope it will spread information and help everyone plan for the holiday.

The Details

Marc and I will leave home on Saturday, November 21, and spend the night in Eugene with Dad and Sheila. We will check into our condo at Schooner Landing on the 22nd about 4:00 p.m. and stay there all week until Sunday morning, the 28th.

Unless it is a problem with anyone, we will eat dinner on Thursday at about 3:00 p.m. It will be a casual, buffet affair, since we won't have table space for everyone.

Below is a map to help you find us. If you need more information about the resort, the phone number at Schooner Landing is (541)265-4293.

The Food

Dad and Sheila have volunteered to bring a turkey. We think that is a great idea since it will save us from hauling a frozen fowl in our overstuffed auto.

Since we will have cooking facilities, but not a lot of space in the car, it will be easiest for us to buy and make mashed potatoes, yams, rolls, gravy, and maybe a salad or pie or two. We can do the cooking at the condo on Thanksgiving.

I haven't talked with the Myricks about what they would like to bring, but maybe they could e-mail me to let me know what they'd like to bring, so we can plan around that.
