And what a week it’s beenThis week I spent a lot of my time at the kids' schools. One day was culture day at Melody's school where the kids went from station to station all day long. The activities were supposed to represent different cultures. They started with bocce balls, then moved to the Tour de France.
Later they did frisbee golf
and the high jump ( I'm not sure what those had to do with "culture," but they were fun.)
Look at that high jump form! Here we come, Olympics! They also painted tiles for a mosaic, made boomerangs, and other activities. It was a fun day.
I was back at the middle school the next day for the end of year awards, and Friday to share Subway sandwiches with Melody.
Bryan had final drama performances one evening. Here he is doing a monologue from Macbeth.
And The Importance of Being Earnest (or Ernest?)
He also had track team awards night where he received a plaque for his hard work.
Thomas had a game day on Thursday and an awards ceremony also. And he had a writing celebration where they got to eat pizza and then the parents visited to read the books they've been writing all year. Thomas has some pretty amazing stories written. Maybe he'll be the one in the family to get published. This picture was taken of Thomas with his teacher, Mrs. Pelley. She has been very patient this year (enough said on that.)
Only one more day of school for Melody and Thomas, and two half-days for Bryan, and summer will be officially here! I have a few more days to study for my nursing boards and then I will be care-free also. Poor Marc. His job continues. Thankfully. Happy summer to you all.
